Therefore, older pieces tended to get damaged where there is not much of it left. Women's casual wear has become particularly more fashion oriented in recent years where it feels like there are fewer and fewer carefully crafted products out there. もともと、メンズに比べて簡素な作りのものが多く、昔のものは傷んでしまって残っていることがあまりありません。特に近年になればなるほど、レディースカジュアルはファッション化され、作り込まれたものが少なくなったように思います。 Surely there are women out there seeking products that have an internal quality to them, resulting in garments and boots that are truly comfortable. This construction method will always limit the lifespan of a shoe though. I started thinking about whether I could make sneakers that utilized the Goodyear welt construction method. By taking a cup sole generally used to make tennis shoes (a rubber outsole that has a raised "sidewall" which is similar to a cup that wraps around a portion of the upper part of the shoe), and integrating a hand-sewn finish, the FOLEY-FOLK style was created. By minimizing the amount of adhesive and using cork for the insole, the shoes are more breathable, and that prevents any buildup of extra moisture. The more they’re worn the cork settles into the shape of the wearer’s foot and allows for an improved fit where they become a pair of shoes you cannot part with. *The first FOLEY-FOLK model was a prototype, where later versions incorporated the ability to replace the outsole.
