The restaurant's bright yellow interior creates a pop atmosphere. We entered just after the restaurant opened and were guided to the back. As the restaurant slowly filled up, the majority of the customers were European, and our seat was the only Japanese seat in a small island. We chose water spinach and chicken steak, but as soon as it arrived, we realized it was American-sized! My friend Sam boasts that this place is the best, and as you pass through the restaurant, the clear blue Indian Ocean unfolds before your eyes! Authentic rice and curry, accompanied by a colorful array of side dishes, is brought to the table. Sam's passionate instructions, "You only need to use the first knuckle of your finger to make this dish," he expertly mixes the curry and papadum, earnestly explaining that it's the Sri Lankan way to enjoy a meal with all five senses. Mixing exactly as Sam instructed, I fully savored the aroma of the spices, and once I'd fully grasped the Sri Lankan spirit with my fingertips, I quickly whipped out my spoon, a tool of modern Japanese culture. 🥄 We enjoyed lunch while watching the bikinis enjoying themselves on the beach in front of us. They rescue turtle eggs that have been abandoned on the sand or that were about to be sold for food, hatch them in a safe place, and release them back into the sea. They also treat sea turtles that have been injured by becoming entangled in fishing nets or swallowing plastic. They protect green turtles, hawksbill turtles, olive ridley turtles, loggerhead turtles, and swan sharks. As soon as we shut off the engine, the whale was on its stage. Its gigantic shadow projected on the fish finder and its mysterious singing voice captured on GoPro... Our hopes of enjoying the quiet night breeze on the way home were dashed in vain, as the driver of the toktok we caught had his cheerfulness turned up to full throttle! The volume of the speakers was at max volume, beyond normal! The toktok was like a moving speaker, roaring down Mirissa's main street. Conversation was impossible, and the driver was already in high spirits. Is this the service spirit of the people of southern Sri Lanka?
